Cleaning has always been a no brainier for me, but I hate ingesting all of those harsh chemicals. When you live in an apartment like I do those smells can really get overwhelming. I have begun to do a little Fall cleaning and started weening out many commercial products and started using natural cleaners. I wanted to share with you some of my FALL natural cleaning solutions that are healthier for you and your family. Many of which clean better than your traditional commercial cleaners.
It is amazing how well vinegar, baking soda, and citrus fruits clean my house. I have really bad allergies and with these natural cleaners it rids my house of most of the allergens that cause my sinuses to flare up.

Vinegar + Baking Soda
Use this mixture to get rid of gunk and grime from your bathroom and kitchen. All you need is 1 part baking soda and 2 parts vinegar in the toilet of your bathroom, let sit for a few minutes and BOOM! (no scrubbing required) wipe away all of that nasty bacteria.
I also love using it in the laundry especially after I have recently made this DIY laundry detergent. With my fiance being a cook this really deodorizes and cleans his uniforms. It is also great when you want to get rid of really harsh smells in fabrics.
Vinegar + Dawn Pure Essentials Dish-washing Liquid
Recently, I have discovered this time saver. Put 1 part Dawn dish-washing liquid and 2 parts vinegar in a spray bottle, shake and spray all over your shower. Let the mixture sit for an hour. This allows you to just wipe away all of the soap scum and crud that has built up between shower uses. Rinse and you are good to go. It is really that easy.
Essential Oils

Ever since my mom introduced me to essential oils I have been obsessed. I haven't been able to get a full kit yet, but when I do watch out for many posts coming your way. There are so many uses for essential oils, I use them mainly in my cleaners as it leaves a nice natural scent in my home.
They have so many scents to choose from. My favorite is lavender. I use lavender because it is very calming. After a long day at work coming home to a calm atmosphere allows for my mind to regroup.
Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits like lemon, lime, and grapefruit are great for getting rid of rust, disinfecting, and deodorizing. I love the smell that they leave behind. Definitely a more pleasant smell than Pine Sol and Bleach.
Lemon can be used to clean the soap scum from kitchen fixtures. It leaves them shiny and scum free.
I also cut a piece and drop it in the sink disposal. After a few weeks of dirty water and food the disposal can start to have an odor. I run a little water and turn on the disposal. It clears away those nasty odors from the sink.
Oranges are used in the same way as lemons. Use the peels infused with vinegar to make a great citrus multipurpose cleaner.
Grapefruit + salt is great for getting rid of rust and hard to scrub gunk. This can also be used as an alternative to scrub your shower.
These items are inexpensive and clean better than many expensive commercial products. I have recently been trying to live a more natural lifestyle from my cleaning products to the foods I eat. Although it has really been hard to completely be all natural especially with the foods I eat. I have really begun to take that journey into a more healthier lifestyle for my family. Starting out with smaller things I knew would be better for me. Please tell me how you are living a more natural lifestyle and how these natural solutions worked for you.
