I was so excited to receive my first invitation to The Mall at Millenia's Fashion Night In Event. It was a great experience to connect with other bloggers, get glamorous, and of course eat/drink an unlimited supply of wine, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres.
With Fall being around the corner I wanted my outfit to consist of more earthly tones. I wanted to create an outfit that was trendy and pocket friendly. It is the season for light jackets, boots, and warm color tones. With that in mind I went on a mission to find the perfect pieces.
With a little research I found that the outfit I had in mind would have cost me a few hundred dollars. This called for a little creativity and thrifting. Luckily I was able to snatch up this gorgeous mint green Armani Exchange Slip Dress for $2.99 that I found at my local Salvation Army.
Always check at your local thrift store for discount days and student discounts you are sure to find a shirt or two that can be pieced together with other separates. Search for seasonal sales, this is a must for the ones who aren't really into thrifting.
Target has a great sale on apparel, accessories, and shoes. I found a pair of cute Women's Kady Pointed Toe Lace Up Ballet Flats by Mossimo Supply Co. for $24.99. These shoes are a must have this season. Especially if you live in the warmer climate states. They can be worn to the office, brunch with the girls, or dress them up for date night with the hubby.
My accessories were these DIY pom pom earrings I made inspired by these Betsy Johnson Faux Fur Pom Pom earrings.. I already had some jewelry chains, earring clamps, elastic cording, and faux fur from Jo-Ann Fabric. This made my DIY quick, easy and seamless.
The outfit went perfectly with these Edward Beiner shades and Giorgio Armani: Lip Maestro Drama rose pink matte lipstick here. My quick faux Marley Braid hair bantu knots were created with some Marley Kinky Twist hair I bought from my local beauty supply store.
NYFW 2017 here I come!
